MANIFEST.bz2 is a listing of all the files in the Slackware packages.
You can find that file on any Slackware CD or on any mirror.
You can find this file on any Slackware mirror in the versions slackware/ directorie (for older versions this is the slakware/ directorie).
This tool wil let you search the MANIFEST.bz2 of different Slackware versions for certain files.
It might come in handy if you are missing a lib or something like that.
Because of the nature of Slackware packages - they are really only zipped tar files - it is not possible to search for symbolic links.
This means you wil not be able to search (and find) for i.e. "locate" since this is in fact a symbolic link to the file "slocate". You can however use regular expression to widen you search. A search for ".*locate" wil find "locate" for you. Or use "ntp.*" to find "ntpdate".
In fact the regex "/\/$Search4$/" is used to do the searching in which $Search4 is the string you entered.
